Who we are/Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide women, regardless of age, race, ethnic background, religious beliefs, or economic status, with a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental environment where they are free to be themselves, sharing their thoughts, feelings and ideas on subject matters related to women’s health and wellness.

WHO ARE WE?

How Peace by Pieces came to fruition:

Peace by Pieces was birthed from my vision to provide a peaceful space where all women from all walks of life would be free to gather for no reason other than 'just because'.

Often times, we, as women, have a need and a desire to gather with our sister/girlfriends, just to relax, unwind, and catch-up, leaving our 'stuff' at the door, but sometimes finding the perfect time and location is a challenge, so I stumbled upon the perfect, quaint, peaceful location, by way of The Honorable Savannah Winston, who is the owner of the Preston OfficePlex and the Treasurer of Peace by Pieces.

Walking into the space, I immediately felt a sense of peace and envisioned women gathering around the tables, sharing words of encouragement and motivation with each other and from that vision, PEACEful Conversations were birthed.  PEACEful Conversations are guided by women who volunteer their time to share encouragement, inspiration and motivation with women, on topics related to women's overall health and wellness.

Peace by Pieces provides retail therapy for women by way of offering new and gently used clothes, shoes/boots, scarves, coats/jackets, jewelry, and other outerwear items for women and they are neatly arranged on racks so that women can browse and select any items of their choosing, ALL FOR FREE!  The items are obtained by way of donations received from generous donors, from near and far.

Being a survivor of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, as well as an overcomer of Alcohol Dependence, Low Self-Esteem, Poor Body Image and three (3) suicide attempts, I know all too well what it feels like to exist but not live.  I was broken and didn't know where, or how, to begin to pick up my pieces, so I gave it all to God and He healed my brokenness and restored my peace, and it is, now, my mission and my passion to pay it forward to women everywhere!

I have a very special relationship with every one of the members of The Board of Directors of Peace by Pieces, as they have each witnessed various stages and seasons of my journey from broken to peaceful and they share my passion to help create a peaceful gathering space for women!
